Berhampur: The investigation into the shocking murder of former Health Minister Naba Das is intensifying, with a Crime Branch team, led by ASP Vijay Kumar Mallik, visiting the residence of Gopal Das, the arrested police ASI implicated in the case.

During their visit, the team engaged in a thorough discussion with Gopal's wife, Jayanti Das, located near Panchasila Marg in the Industrial Estate area. ASP Mallik stated that they extensively questioned her about Gopal's behavior on the day of the shooting and prior interactions.

Her testimony has been officially documented.

To date, the statements of 11 individuals have been recorded, as confirmed by Mallik. The investigation is still active, with more individuals likely to be interrogated in the near future. The Crime Branch team has been operating in Berhampur since April 23, beginning their questioning on April 24.

Investigators have also obtained Gopal Das' call detail records (CDRs) and are probing individuals he communicated with leading up to the murder.

Sources indicate that significant information has surfaced during the investigation, although the Crime Branch has yet to release any official updates on their findings. Further interrogations remain a possibility. Previously, Gopal's son Manoj Das, brother Satyanarayan Das, and nephew Pradeep Das were questioned.

Jayanti's statement was also recorded on Saturday.

In earlier visits, the Crime Branch documented statements from four family members, a police colleague, and a bus conductor from OSRTC, completing the collection of accounts from 11 individuals.
